The Lark Ascending

Tonight I introduced a dear friend to Ralph Vaughan Williams’ magnificent piece “The Lark Ascending”- and was once again transported to a place of misty moors and rolling hills, soaring high above the cares of wind, cold, income tax returns, and Hebrew grammer. I re-fell in love with the horns, with Sir Adrian Boult, Hugh Bean, and with the lilting and playful tapestry of music that burst dancing through the speakers to our thirsty ears. Thankyou thankyou thankyou Lord for the joy of song, for praise, for the hilarious abandonment of worship!
