The Secret life of Bees

Book clubs are a rapidly growing ‘neavueax’ type of small group fellowship- one that binds readers and discussers (and dissidents) into an intimate atmosphere of self-disclosure. For, indeed, what is self-disclosure but an admission of the need for connection in a meaningful discourse and dialogue centred around the living and loving of life and its commitant issues. We certainly don’t come together to stare blankly at each other, eating pizza that might have tasted better at home. Nor do we have a group that prides itself on the scholarly dissection of language- name dropping various authors du jour that flit upwardly or downwardly on the fickle ladder which is the “pick of the month”.
We have such diversity of background, and yet profound respect for the integrity and the journeys represented in each member of the group. For this I give thanks to God.
